I never collect my movie ticket stubs. So how I still have this particular one, I don’t know. It could be because I kept my Deathly Hallows: Part 1 ticket, and this just naturally completed it.
You know, I really planned for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 to be my first midnight premiere movie that I would go to. Even my parents agreed to let me go. But that didn’t happen… because Katherine was in freakin’ Europe.
I made a deal with her that we would go watch it together. But since she was in Europe with her family for the summer, I had no choice but to wait (I was very tempted to go earlier, though).
I still remember her standing outside the Alhambra Renaissance theater by herself waiting for me awkwardly. I came just a few minutes later than our expected time. After the movie (which was awesome), we sat outside and talked about the movie, moping the end of the series, while waiting for our rides. It’s kinda weird to say, but that was probably my first movie with a friend. A friend. Singular.
So yes, that special momentous occasion deserves its own “relive” post.
Anonymous asked: I don't mean to seem rude or anything, but do you enjoy picnics ?
If there are sandwiches, cheese and crackers, chips, cookies, and iced tea…
I’m there.
I sat there waiting for the bell to ring, clad in my Los Renombrados decorations. There was this one particular guy sitting way across the other side.
As I was looking the other way, I heard footsteps coming towards me.
“Good job, bro,” and a handshake. “Keep it up.”
I can’t express how nice that gesture was. A complete stranger. Even though we don’t know each other personally, I know of him. He got pretty famous after the Talent Show. It’s too bad I didn’t get to tell him how much I admired his acrobatic talent and his bravery in taking an unconventional role in high school. Sounds like I’m talking gibberish here, but if you know him, you’d know what I mean.
But that made my day.
